5 Most Anticipated July Hip Hop Releases

Last year's lockdowns spurred a ton of artistic output from hip hop favorites, and it doesn't look like the flow has slowed yet. July promises to be a great month, with many highly anticipated mixtapes and albums. Some of the top ones we're looking forward to dropping right as we're able to get out and enjoy the summer weather.

1. Fenix Flexin — Fenix Flexin Vol. 1

The month starts off with high momentum with a mixtape from Fenix Flexin. The former Shoreline Mafia rhymer released his solo debut on July 1. The album features a performance from Drakeo the Ruler and a tribute to Mac P Dawg, who was shot and killed last year.

2. G Herbo — 25

G Herbo is set to release his fourth full-length album the next day on July 2. Singles like "Really Like That," "Break Yoself," and "Statement" have gotten fans excited for the additional 16 previously unheard tracks.

3. Pop Smoke — Posthumous album

Up and coming New York rapper Pop Smoke's career was tragically cut short by his death last year. The new album will serve as a follow-up to his successful debut, "Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon," which was released in July of last year. Pop Smoke's family has said there is more to be released, and they will be working to keep his legacy alive.

4. Jazz Cartier — Fleur Print Vol. 2

Last month's single "Two of 'Em" built anticipation for Jazz Cartier's upcoming alum "Fleur Print Vol. 2." This LP is set to drop July 23. The album will also include his 2020 singles "Basement," "Disclosure," and "Nothing 2 Me," along with several new tracks.

5. Vince Staples — Self-titled LP

After three years of silence, Vince Staples is back. Last month brought Law of Averages, which was preceded by a single of the same name. This month, a self-titled album will follow. Staples announced last month that his new LP will be out July 9. He says that this album will be more autobiographical, sharing what it was like growing up in Long Beach.
